When asked by a mum, ‘how can I get my 4 year old to go to sleep on her own’ it occurred to me how common it is for children to start asking why they have to sleep by themselves.
It is human nature to sleep in company. As adults we tend to have a bed partner. So why do we expect our children, small vulnerable beings, to sleep all alone in a dark room?
It’s a fair question for those kiddos to ask and my own children have asked me this. The truth is, we sleep more soundly without those little wrigglers in our bed and they get better rest and quality of sleep in their own sleep environment too.
So this episode of The Sleep Nanny Show shares 5 steps to helping your 4 year old accept the concept of sleeping alone and get a great night’s sleep.
