Winner of the Best Early Years Sleep & Soothing Products

“We’ve been sleep deprived for two years now.”

“It got to the point where I was exhausted all the time. I was crying because of sleep deprivation. It was the worst”

“The problems we were experiencing seemed like they were never-ending and the thought of a full night’s sleep felt so far away.”

If you’ve been Googling “sleep tips for newborn” or “how to get my toddler to stop waking at 4:30 AM”, you aren’t alone.

The Sleep Junkie survey asked 500 UK and 500 US parents to share how they were trying to get their little ones to sleep. Activities ranged from driving to reading to feeding and more.

All in all, parents were spending close to 6 hours trying to get their little one to sleep!

Each new parent loses a staggering 109 minutes of sleep every night for the first year after having a baby. (source: Sleep Junkie)

Nearly half of all parents with children six months or younger get just ONE to THREE hours of uninterrupted sleep a night. (source: Owlet Baby Care)

How crazy is this?
But that’s not all.

Sleep deprivation impacts our ability to function as normal adults.

The Owlet survey reported that around 30 percent of new dads have fallen asleep at work, 21 percent of parents have dozed off in parked cars, 12 percent crashed out at the kitchen table and 11 percent drifted to sleep in the shower!

FACT: Being a sleep-deprived parent isn’t a badge of honor.

Sleep deprivation impacts everyone, parents and little ones, negatively.

When your baby or toddler isn’t sleeping well, it’s difficult for them to thrive.

Research shows babies and young children depend upon healthy sleep for their cognitive development and health.

The damage can remain hidden and be long-term.

A study at Harvard revealed that children with poor sleep during early childhood are more likely to have problems with attention, emotional control, and peer relationships in mid-childhood

And let’s be honest…

When your little one isn’t sleeping well, you aren’t sleeping well. And yes, it’s difficult for you to thrive.

You’re cranky, irritable, anxious, or even depressed. If you’re a mama experiencing postpartum depression, prolonged sleep deprivation will only make it worse.

You find it hard to go through the day, and you find yourself feeling lost, overwhelmed, and utterly exhausted, emotionally and physically. You feel the strain on your relationship with your partner or your older kids.

You feel guilty that you’re unable to get your little one to sleep. After all, you’re the parent. You should know, right?

Or you feel guilty that you aren’t spending enough time with your partner or your older kids because you’re just so exhausted.

“I had got into a habit with my youngest daughter for ‘ease’ of her napping in the carrier so I could be on hand for my oldest daughter however at 15 months old this wasn’t working anymore!

She wasn’t getting the quality of sleep and my oldest wasn’t getting quality time with mummy… I was feeling very guilty all of the time!

At night my youngest was still feeding to sleep and waking up numerous times to feed her back to sleep so more often than not would end up in bed with me! My husband and I didn’t have any time together either – cue more guilt!!!!”

Meet the Sleep Monsters

The “Make-Them-Cry-It-Out” Monster

Raise your hand if you’ve heard (and cringed!) at the “cry it out” sleep training approach.

You may have even tried it for a little while only to realize that it doesn’t work, and it doesn’t give you that confidence and comfort that your little one is happy.

The “They’ll-Figure-It-Out-Eventually” Monster

Ever have a friend or family member tell you that “babies eventually learn to sleep” or “they’ll figure it out!”? Or worse, “tire them out during the day and they’ll sleep during the night”?

Yeah, guess what? They don’t figure it out, they don’t sleep during the night and to add to it all… you have an overtired, sleep-deprived baby to soothe.

The “One-Size-Sleep-Solution” Monster

This one’s the worst. The generic, “this works for everyone” approach. Either it’s all touchy-feely and emotion-based. Or all hardcore, rigid routines.

It’s like one parent described,

“Us: Our child is not going to sleep in a reasonable period of time and waking up too soon
Sleep training: Aha! – you need to get them to sleep earlier and get them
up later
Us: Don’t you think that’s what we’ve been trying!? My little one wants to be
awake. You can’t force them to go to sleep!”

But here’s the thing

When you don’t have one-size outfits for babies and children, why should you have one-size sleep solutions?

The reason most sleep training advice falls horribly flat is that it’s tailored to suit all babies and toddlers.

The reality though is that every little one is unique.

In fact, every age and stage is unique and brings different sleep challenges with it.

Parents often realize that sleep is constantly changing as babies grow older. Just when you think you’ve cracked it… it changes all over again.

Which is why what worked with your friend Linda’s 6-month-old will not work with your 3-month-old.

And yes, books, videos, and free resources are great, but they aren’t tailored to your little one.

They don’t give you the custom-fit solution that takes your child’s personality, your lifestyle, and your unique situation into consideration.

Most sleep coaches, too, follow a set-in-stone “blueprint” when giving advice.

But the truth is…
Babies don’t need blueprints

What little ones need to sleep well is a gentle yet effective evidence-based solution that’s designed just for them.

A tailor-made solution that works so you can finally have a predictable routine, reclaim your sleep and sanity and see your little one thrive.

A customizable solution that blends both science and soul so you aren’t just “feeling” your way to a sleep routine or merely following a rigid routine but intentionally building your child’s sleep skills.

Your little one is unlike any other little one.
Why should your sleep solution be the same?

I believe… Teaching a baby how to settle to sleep and sleep through the night is a learned skill and it does not require leaving them to cry it out.

I believe in teaching parents how to achieve long-lasting results for their little ones.

Just as you guide and support your baby with learning to walk, potty training, and one day learning how to ride a bike, you teach your baby to self-soothe and sleep well.

None of these things happen without actively showing your little one the way. The more they practice and develop their skills the less you have to do for them.

Being able to sleep independently is one of the very first things your little one can learn how to do.

With Dream Maker, you help your little one sleep better and reclaim your evenings, enjoy free time and yes, get a full nights’ sleep all.the.time.

Create sleep habits based on your family life and your little one’s personality.

Use gentle, lovingly responsive techniques to help your little ones settle and soothe themselves

Know exactly how to help your active personality baby, early riser, or your reflux-prone baby.

Navigate nap times, dummy/pacifier use, and night weaning with complete confidence.

Deal with milestones and growth spurts, travel, and sickness so nothing impacts your baby’s sleep habits.

Get your time back, feel rested and refreshed with a happy little one who’s thriving and healthy.

Module 2
Parent Sleep Ed 101

You’ll learn how to:

  • Understand the best approach for your child’s personality type.
  • Create an ideal routine for your unique little one.
  • Use the science behind self-settling so you can help your little one effectively.
  • Identify over-tiredness and know how to stop it.

“After 15 months of broken sleep and daytime naps taken in the car or in the baby carrier, I decided that things had to change.

Immediately I felt comfortable chatting to Lucy about the position we’d got into.

Lucy didn’t judge me, in fact, she empathised and took time to understand how and why which made me relax and I was very keen and excited to get started!

I wanted a gentle solution with as little crying (from me and baby) as possible and I was also keen to continue feeding.

Within a couple of days, she was settling herself to sleep without much fuss and sleeping from 7 until 4 am without a problem!

Our daytime naps are also much better too, she’s in her cot and no longer reliant on feeding, the car, or the carrier to sleep!

This now frees my time up to play properly with my older daughter which has made us both so happy.”

Alexandra Rowne,
parent to Maisie, age 15 months

Module 3
Overcome the Challenges

You’ll learn how to:

  • Discover and use sleep onset associations so you can use the good ones and ditch the bad ones!
  • Know when to let your little one use a pacifier or dummy and when to ditch it.
  • Settle your little one to sleep in a way that’s perfectly aligned with their needs.
  • Lay a reflux-prone baby down to sleep without discomfort or tears.
  • Cope with an early riser without losing any sleep!

“It works! We have, at last, had a whole week of my 2-year-old son sleeping from 6:30 pm to 7 am! We felt that from the moment that we started with Lucy that she treated our situation as a completely individual case and therefore never jumped to conclusions or made assumptions about our situation.

We followed Lucy’s advice to the letter and as she predicted, the results came!

If you have a child who is an early waker or wakes up in the middle of the night regularly, I would highly recommend speaking with Lucy. At the end of the day, a good night’s sleep is priceless!”

Michelle Peel,
parent to Fergus aged 2

Module 4
Implementation

You’ll learn how to:

  • Use the “Fade Out” technique so you can help your baby sleep gently and effectively.
  • Use “Regulated Responding” for your little one if they have an alert, active personality.
  • Make sure all the caregivers are on the same page to improve your little one’s sleep.
  • Use “consistency” to set a secure foundation for your child.

Then, you’ll use our handy, customizable Tracker to record your progress over the next 30 days.

“After feeling like I had totally lost control and there was no light at the end of a very long dark tunnel, my 8-month-old daughter has just slept through for a straight 11 hours only on night 2 of the “fade out” approach. I am one very happy mummy this morning. Thank you so much for your words and advice.”

Leona Smart,
parent to Lola, age 8 months

Module 5
New Baby Sleep

You’ll learn about:

  • How rhythmicity and routine promote development of longer sleep stretches.
  • Understand naps for a contented new baby.
  • Optimal ways for settling your newborn to sleep.
  • Managing night feeds with a new baby.

“Wow – what a turnaround! If you’re contemplating getting started – do not hesitate! It’s been the best money we’ve ever spent. Now, our little girl self-settles completely independently and sleeps through the night (11/12 hours). We never thought she’d ever sleep through, and we are amazed with what we have achieved in such a short space of time – just over 2 weeks. Our daughter’s temperament has changed drastically from being very needy and whiney all the time, to a child who is happy, full of energy and who loves to explore! Our mental health is much better as we now have down time in the evenings and we can wake up feeling refreshed after a good nights sleep.”

Emily Boulton,
parent to Wynter, age 12 months

Module 6
Night Weaning

You’ll learn how to:

  • Identify whether it is time to wean your baby from night feeds.
  • Differentiate between dream feeding and response feeding.
  • Wean your baby comfortably from night feeds if they no longer need it.

“We were struggling to night wean our 21-month-old son. I breastfed him to sleep and was the only one who was able to settle him at night.

He used to wake every 2-3 hours for a feed / to be resettled. Since working with Lucy, Mylo goes to sleep without being fed, will now fall asleep with my husband, and sleeps from 7:00 pm until 6:00 am.

We literally couldn’t be more pleased with the way things have gone.

Lucy made sure we were comfortable with each stage and helped us break stages down further so we could go at our own pace and so it was right for our family. We are so grateful for the help and advice she has given us. Would highly recommend Lucy to anyone who wants to get a better nights’ sleep.”

Cheryl Rossiter,
parent to Mylo, age 21 months

Module 7
Nap Training

You’ll learn how to:

  • Help your baby get the daytime sleep they really need.
  • Settle your baby for daytime sleep.
  • Resettle your baby in the case of a broken nap.
  • Troubleshoot common nap challenges.

“Our son had been waking in the night for 6 months!!

It just goes to show that with the right technique to suit the individual child, they can learn to sleep well within a week or two and with a gentle technique that doesn’t require stressing the child or parents out!

He is also napping better during the day as a result.”

Honey Dorey,
parent to Zico, age 20 months

Module 8
Beyond Babyhood

You’ll feel confident about:

  • The specific sleep challenges with toddlers, preschoolers and early childhood.
  • The parenting strategies for healthy sleep in young children.

“We started sleep training him at 8 months after too many sleepless nights. He responded well to our surprise and was able to self settle after the fourth night.

Since then, his sleep has improved a lot, he now goes down at 7:30pm and wakes up 6:30-7am with zero night waking.

My wife and I no longer dread his night time routine and I enjoy putting him to sleep. This program has been a blessing for us.”

Ekene Uzoma,
parent to Arinze, age 8 months

Module 9
Staying on Track

You’ll learn how to:

  • Navigate milestones and growth spurts so they don’t challenge your little one’s sleep habits.
  • Travel happily with your little ones without disruption or regression in sleep routines.
  • Manage daylight clock changes to continue to help your little one sleep well.
  • Prevent sickness from destroying your little one’s sleep skills and routines.

“We contacted Lucy after a month of difficult, sleepless nights with our 7-month-old son, Ralph. He would wake several times a night, often for several hours, and he would always end up in bed with us. We knew we had fallen into bad habits but couldn’t make sense of all the different advice in the baby books and online.

The Sleep Nanny, Lucy, removed all doubt, creating a tailor-made sleeping plan to suit us all and offering tips and advice on the best way to implement the plan.

Lucy then supported us through her group calls, listening to the issues we were having and where necessary, tweaking our plan to overcome these difficulties.

Within 10 days Ralph’s sleeping was so much better. He now goes down at 7:00 pm soothing himself to sleep and sleeping through until 6:00 am.

We feel confident that we now have the necessary skills to ensure he continues to sleep well and we know what to do if he had a bad night.
We would wholeheartedly recommend anyone who is struggling with their little ones’ sleep to contact The Sleep Nanny.”

James Dale,
parent to Ralph, age 8 months

Your full night’s sleep is just a few steps away

It’s been a week since you’ve been in Dream Maker and already, you’re having an easier time settling in your little one, thanks to the predictability of routines and schedules.

You find that not only is bedtime not a nightly battle of wills, but also your little one is sleeping for longer stretches!

Imagine waking up every morning, feeling rested and refreshed. And to a baby who’s happy and rested too.

How great will that feel?

Can you imagine how easy life will be if you (and your baby!) sleep happily every night?

Because like you already know…

Sleep isn’t optional.

Crashing on the couch in the middle of the day doesn’t equal a good night’s sleep.

You need to feel rested so you can be healthier, happier, and present for your life, your family, your baby!

“But Lucy… why can’t I just read your book (or watch your videos!) and sort this out?”

You absolutely can!

But books and YouTube videos can only give you generic guidelines since we aren’t working closely with you and don’t know your family’s unique situation or your baby’s unique personality.

In Dream Maker, you take those guidelines but go deeper. Way deeper.

You learn how to create a customized sleep solution that’ll work for YOU, YOUR little one, and YOUR family.

  • You discover what steps to take and which ones to skip.
  • You master an exceptional understanding of knowing exactly what your child needs in order to sleep well.
  • Books, videos, and free resources may help to a point.

But when you need a tailored approach…

… you need Dream Maker.

“I was reluctant to start sleep coaching but it had got to the point I was exhausted and useless to everyone. Highlighted even more during the lockdown.

Lucy has been brilliant, she is supportive and clear with her guidance and after a rocky start (with me struggling to adjust rather than the children) we are now seeing progress and I am feeling we are moving in a very positive direction.

I had read books and tried online course content but Lucy provides a much more tailored discussion and really explains what we as parents can do.”

Joanna West,
parent to Sammy, 3 years
and Alice, 21 months

“We approached Lucy a few months back feeling like we had exhausted every other avenue with regards to our 3-year-old, Charlotte, who was never much of a napper as a baby and became a nightly battle of wills just to get a couple of hours of sleep a night.

Within a few weeks of following Lucy’s plan, we had some amazing results, which continue to get better every week.

Having someone there to share any issues we had and to guide us back on the plan was invaluable. It is also such a blessing to now have stress-free evenings and a decent night’s sleep ourselves. Thanks again!”

Craig & Louise,
parents to Charlotte, 3.5 years

“Finding Lucy was an absolute godsend! Our 2-year-old daughter would not sleep in her own bed for nearly a year and would wake throughout the night constantly. We basically had no sleep of any quality or length for such a long period of time.

However, doing Lucy’s program of suggestions tailor-made for our family really helped.

It became much easier than I ever thought possible to get our little one back to sleeping in her bed without a fuss and for the last 2 nights, our daughter has slept all the way through from 7:00 pm until 6:30 am.

Our daughter is happier, more rested and life is good! Thank you Lucy so very much, we will recommend you to everyone!”

Karen Wells
parent to Lula, 2 years 4 months

Still unsure Dream Maker would work for you?

Formerly Sleep-Deprived (and Skeptical!) Parents Asked These Questions

How long will it take before I see results?

Great question. Since every little one is different, time periods differ.

BUT… typically we see big improvements within a week to 10 days!

Sometimes it is very quick. For instance, it took just TWO nights for Chloe!

Sometimes things take a little longer and may require focused effort for 30+ days. At the end of the day (or should I say, night?!), you want a solution that’s perfect for your little one so you don’t have to try a million different things.

Why Does Dream Maker Cost this Much?

I’m SO glad you asked this. So, unlike other sleep consultants, we don’t charge you per session. Neither do we give you a list of general techniques (like “always do a bath before bedtime!”). Every sleep plan is tailored to your little one.

PLUS, unlike other cheaper alternatives, we are in it with you for the long run. You have access to Dream Maker for the LIFE of the program. You don’t have to worry about paying more if, say, your little one has a regression due to sickness or travel. You simply come right back in and get the support you need.

ALL of this means we charge you a one-time fee instead of many multiple fees for a lifetime of support.

You don’t pay recurring fees and we don’t limit support. Win-win!!

While you can’t place a price tag on a good night’s sleep, you can be confident that we have easy payment plans and want this to be as accessible to you as possible.

I’ve worked with a sleep consultant before. I’m worried this wouldn’t work.

I hear you and I’m sorry it didn’t work out earlier. But here’s the silver lining… Now you KNOW what doesn’t work with your little one. Plus, you’ll discover WHY things didn’t work out before so you can make sure they do so from now on.

And if you need additional information about whether or not this will be the perfect fit for your little one, feel free to email us at support@sleepnanny.co.uk OR schedule a call with our team here.

Will this involve letting my baby cry it out?

No.

So, you may find your baby may fuss and yes, may cry (in fact, we hope so because babies are meant to cry to communicate).

But at NO point…will you be required to leave your baby to cry it out or even, practice controlled crying.

You will always have a response to use and you’ll use that response gently and lovingly.

I’m working from home and so is my partner. I’m worried this will be too time-consuming.

I’ll be honest… Learning how to help your baby build healthy, lasting sleep habits will take time and you do need to be committed.

But how much time are you actually losing right now because you aren’t sleeping enough or properly?

Imagine reclaiming not only your sleep but also your TIME.

As a busy entrepreneurial parent, myself, I can vouch that the few hours you spend learning these skills will give you back your DAYS!

Having said that, you’ll find that the videos in Dream Maker are all bite-sized and none of them is longer than 30 minutes.

I have twins. Can I still use the Dream Maker program?

Yes! You can. The beauty of the Dream Maker is that not only can you use it with twins but also siblings. And that is why this is a one-time investment that keeps paying for itself over and over again.

I have a 5-year old who’s suddenly become an erratic sleeper and early riser. Will Dream Maker work for me or is it only for babies and toddlers?

Yes, it will!

While the majority of our parents have kids aged 0-3, we also have had great success with the 3-7 age group.

Because Dream Maker is based on solid sleep science and psychology, it works wonderfully for children, ages 7 and under.

Is this a course? I need a coach to work with me.

The Dream Maker sleep program is NOT a course.
It is a bespoke sleep program which can be accessed in different ways to meet every family’s requirements.

We have created a private online space (the parent portal) to house the forms you need to complete, links to support and tools to assist you with parenting your little one’s sleep. This accompanies any one-to-one consulting package you choose or co-create with us.

Think of the parent portal more as a resource hub that you have lifetime access to so that you can grab the expertise as and when you need it.

What if I join and realize I don’t want to use the program. Can I get my money back?

Given the fact that this program comes with INSTANT access to everything and has personal 1-on-1 support included, we don’t offer refunds.

However, you’re most welcome to schedule a call with us to discuss if you’re unsure whether your little one will be perfect for it.

What happens after I sign up?

You mean after the happy high-fives? ??

You’ll receive an email with your login details. Once you log in, you’ll get access to the Dream Maker dashboard so you can get started with the first steps – fill out the enrolment form, schedule your 1-on-1 call and join the community.

I have more questions and would like to speak with someone. Can I contact you?

ABSOLUTELY! Please feel free to email us at support@sleepnanny.co.uk or schedule a call with one of our friendly team members right here.

“I am thrilled with the progress that Niamh has made. For the last four days, Niamh has had two decent naps every day. Both lasting approximately 1.5 hours each. I have had time to myself. I’ve baked, done laundry, done a crossword, phoned people – I can feel some of my sanity returning. For all of those naps I have only had to help her settle once and that’s because she banged her head on the side of the cot and needed a cuddle and a soothe. Thank you so much for all the wonderful content that is turning my life back to normal!”

Helping your baby to sleep shouldn’t leave them (or you!) in tears

As a parent to two young children, I know that sleep deprivation is the worst for both the parent and the child.

Helping my fellow parents get a full night’s sleep, every night, and see little ones thrive because they’re rested and refreshed is what gives me the greatest joy.

And let me be honest… you have a lot of choices when it comes to sleep training.

But if you’re looking for an approach that’s tailored to your needs, offers you LIFETIME access (so you can continue to lean on me as your baby grows!) AND gives you gentle, loving strategies that don’t make your baby or you feel awful…

… I’d love to see you in Dream Maker and work with you to create a sleep solution that works for you and your little one.
